چکیده

ÐTraditional plane alignment techniques are typically performed between pairs of frames. In this paper, we present a method for extending existing two-frame planar motion estimation techniques into a simultaneous multi-frame estimation, by exploiting multi-frame subspace constraints of planar surfaces. The paper has three main contributions: 1) we show that when the camera calibration does not change, the collection of all parametric image motions of a planar surface in the scene across multiple frames is embedded in a low dimensional linear subspace; 2) we show that the relative image motion of multiple planar surfaces across multiple frames is embedded in a yet lower dimensional linear subspace, even with varying camera calibration; and 3) we show how these multi-frame constraints can be incorporated into simultaneous multi-frame estimation of planar motion, without explicitly recovering any 3D information, or camera calibration. The resulting multi-frame estimation process is more constrained than the individual two-frame estimations, leading to more accurate alignment, even when applied to small image regions.

Pseudo Zernike Moment-based Multi-frame Super Resolution

The goal of multi-frame Super Resolution (SR) is to fuse multiple Low Resolution (LR) images to produce one High Resolution (HR) image. The major challenge of classic SR approaches is accurate motion estimation between the frames. To handle this challenge, fuzzy motion estimation method has been proposed that replaces value of each pixel using the weighted averaging all its neighboring pixels i...

Adaptive search area for fast motion estimation

In this paper a new method for determining the search area for motion estimation algorithm based on block matching is suggested. In the proposed method the search area is adaptively found for each block of a frame. This search area is similar to that of the full search (FS) algorithm but smaller for most blocks of a frame. Therefore, the proposed algorithm is analogous to FS in terms of reg...

A Feature-Based Approach for Determining Dense Long Range Correspondences

Planar motion models can provide gross motion estimation and good segmentation for image pairs with large inter-frame disparity. However, as the disparity becomes larger, the resulting dense correspondences will become increasingly inaccurate for everything but purely planar objects. Flexible motion models, on the other hand, tend to overfit and thus make partitioning difficult. For this reason...

Detection of Independently Moving Objects in Non-planar Scenes via Multi-Frame Monocular Epipolar Constraint

In this paper we present a novel approach for detection of independently moving foreground objects in non-planar scenes captured by a moving camera. We avoid the traditional assumptions that the stationary background of the scene is planar, or that it can be approximated by dominant single or multiple planes, or that the camera used to capture the video is orthographic. Instead we utilize a mul...
